The third chapter of Edmonton’s Sole Good series was held at the Delta South hotel on September 18th.
Me and my man Alex hit the road for the drive from Calgary around 10:30am only making a stop to hit Carl’s JR for a quick bite before we spent the rest of the day feeding our souls with soles.
Once inside the venue it was obvious they had packed the place with more vendors than the previous years, the setup was easily maneuverable and music was a good level, a NBA 2K tournament, everything needed for a good event, well that and … The sneakers.
The first thing seen was the Nike Air Mags front and centre at the front door, no need to say more but was a great foreshadow to the rest of the heat we were going to see. With tables from shops to collectors, sales and displays, sneakers to supreme, Bape to gold chains and everything in between.
My surprise was the lack of brands like New Balance, Saucony and Asics, what that also meant was the domination of adidas.
Whether for sale or on feet, myself included, boost was everywhere, EVERYWHERE, from Raf to numerous Yeezy sightings, triple white UB’s ranging around a dozen pairs, it’s clear adidas had the day.
That doesn’t mean there wasn’t plenty of other heat on feet though, Puma, Ye’s crepe boot and Jordan Brand had a heavy hand in what patrons wore, but the pair that took the title in my opinion was Sole Good’s own Ke breaking necks with the Clot x Nike ‘Kiss of Death’ AM’s.
From the time we arrived until the time we left it was good vibes, YYCsolediers homie Adam was there with a table, as well as my fam Lexington Ave Culture Spot who was an event sponsor along with ANNMS, Foosh and Goldteeth Canada.
Speaking with Ke before I left he thought it was all in all bigger than previous times, more vendors, more presale, more door tickets, this was before final numbers were tallied but it’s safe to say E-Town and Sole Good are moving in the right direction.
Shoutout the YEG squad I didn’t get to see, next time, and lastly shoutout to Edmonton as a whole for not stealing anything when my trunk was popped for God knows how long with my Palace boosts, Bape hood and Supreme bag all in plain sight, you the real MVP’s.
Check out some shots below and let us know if you went and what you thought in the comments.
Sick photos! I think I saw you at the event taking pics š Your blog is sick and I like the fact that you touch base on streetwear in Alberta. Didn’t know Edmonton had suck a knack for sneakers and streetwear and Sole Good definitely brought it to life š Great post!
