My first love from sneakers came from the Air Max 90 “Infrared” and Air Jordan 1 “Chicago”. Every week on Shelf Life, I’ll bring you the top sneaker releases for the week that have caught my eye in hopes to inform you about what I believe would be worthy to cop.

With Air Max Day approaching, I can only hope and pray that I can get my hands on a couple of Air Maxes to celebrate this holy holiday. This year, Nike is making a bold move by releasing three Air Max shoes from the HTM design team. What’s interesting about this is that Hiroshi, Tinker and Mark each worked on a different shoe rather than collaboratively on one.
Alongside Air Max Day, Nike also launched the pilot to the Kobe “Fade to Black” Collection, an all-white Nike Zoom Huarache 2K4, to celebrate the Black Mamba’s journey, the first of which released at House Of Hoops on Yonge St. in Toronto. With all these anticipated releases, here are my picks of the week:
Nike Air Max LD-Zero H
The “H” of the HTM design crew hit a home run with these. Hiroshi Fujiwara created the Air Max LD-Zero H, which uses a similar upper to the Roshe LD-1000, combined with a full length Air bag. I mean, what more can I ask for? Its obsidian base with the white details gives it a luxurious look and yet, you can rock these with anything. Did I also mention that these are made with premium materials? The supple leather tongue, suede heel counter, and laced eyelets contrasts perfectly with the deep mesh upper. Pardon my excitement, but the Air Max LD-Zero H are definitely on the top of my list.
Although this pair already released in a small quantity over at Nike Canada on Tuesday, the Air Max LD-Zero H will also release in larger quantities on 3.26.2016 for a price of $280 at select Nike retailers such as Livestock Spadina and for a second run on NDC. If you guys are interested in this pair, locking them down will be difficult, being an HTM shoe and being in high demand. I expect these to fly off shelves and sell out within minutes. Expected resell price for these should be around $450 CAD.
