An insane week for us as a restock on NMDs is happening, Jordan Brand does the unthinkable and another Fragment x Nike collab is released. Here’s what’s up in this week’s Shelf Life.
Air Jordan 1 Low “No Swoosh”
As soon as one mentions Nike, I am certain that their “swoosh” logo is the first thing that pops up in everyone’s mind. Well, Nike and Jordan brand did the unexpected and remove the predominant swoosh on this iteration of the Air Jordan 1 Low. My favorite colorway of this release is definitely the pinkish ones (Nike named it “Arctic Orange”), as we don’t see this color everyday on sneakers and definitely reminds me of Drake’s single “Hotline Bling”. Not to mention that this color will be hyped during summer ’16 (get that reference?).
As these are rumored to only have 3,000 pairs worldwide, expect the “swoosh-less” to be extremely hyped. Removing the swoosh from this classic sneaker gives an entire new perspective on the silhouette, making it look somewhat high end. Minimalism is definitely in play here with the tonal tumbled leather upper and barely any branding which makes these my kryptonite. Without a doubt, I will definitely go after the pink or olive ones as the black ones have a slight resemblance to those “Cyber Monday” 1 Low that dropped recently.
