I love what Jeff Staple has done for the culture. He has been able to turn his name into a brand, and further expand on his brand through countless collaborative projects and self-titled clothing line. He was able to develop an iconic logo for his brand, the Staple Pigeon, and he also created one of the most iconic shoe colourway of all-time with the introduction of the Nike SB Dunk Low ‘NYC Pigeons’ from the City Collection of 2005. The first release of the colourway through the Nike SB Dunk Low silhouette resembled the New York City pigeons which are predominantly grey, but as the collaborations grew, so did the colourway. Jeff was able to take the same pigeon concept and apply it to one of his New Balance collaborations with a black base that resembles the pigeons found in the streets of London which tend to have a black body.
The Staple Pigeon colourway is truly an eye-catcher and a must-have for many collectors. We have seen Jeff’s take on numerous brands such as Nike, New Balance, Clarks, and Timberland but this time, he took his vision to Ewing Athletics for his take on a classic silhouette named the 33 Hi. The partnership between Staple and Ewing Athletics is a match made in heaven as Staple is one of the iconic New York streetwear brands and Patrick Ewing is seen as one of the great Knicks of all time.

The Ewing Athletics x Staple 33 Hi will feature the classic Staple Pigeon aesthetics with notes of grey, neon red, and white throughout the silhouette. The upper and the tongue are comprised predominantly of suede in two different shades of grey with the neon red seen on the eyelets, the inner lining, the bottom sole, and the lace tips. The iconic number 33 will be embossed on the back of the right ankle strap, and the back of the left will feature an embossed Staple Pigeon logo. #FlockWithUs is embroidered on the back of the tongue as a cherry on top of an amazing collaboration.
The Ewing Athletics x Staple 33 Hi “Pigeon” will be available exclusively at Staple on Black Friday, November 25. If you aren’t able to grab them today, have no worries as Ewing Athletics retailers and online shops will begin carrying them on December 2.
