Foot Locker Canada celebrated the launch of the 2017 EQT Collection, starting with the EQT Support ADV model in three colourways, by holding a ’90s themed event and members of The Brag Affair were invited to the release day celebrations in two cities, Montreal and Toronto. The ’90s theme commemorated the rich history of the Equipment line which dates back to its original release in 1991. The line was originally designed by the industry legend Peter Moore, and with the help of the innovations throughout the years, the design continued to evolve to what we see today.
My afternoon began with a trip down to Foot Locker’s 247 Yonge Street location in the heart of the downtown core, and as I was walking up to the spot, I could start seeing the signature Turbo Red peaking through the window. Once you entered the store, you knew that it wasn’t your average day at Foot Locker as there was a barber’s chair on-site for those looking for a cut, and also a video game station with a bean bag couch for those looking to kick it and play some NES Classic games such as the timeless Super Mario Bros. Danny from the The Fitting Room Toronto, one of the premier men’s shops in all of Toronto, was offering cuts to those in need and with DJ Conor Cutz playing ’90s music throughout the event, Foot Locker provided a moment for older heads to reminisce about the ’90s while also allowing the younger generation a glimpse into an era they may not be as familiar with.

I met up with Sean Go at the event and got to spend some time with him and the Foot Locker staff to talk about the EQT collection. We debated between which colourway was most ideal, as the signature Turbo Red was the most neck-breaking but the white provided ease of wearability and the black provided ease of mind knowing they would be the easiest to keep clean. After going back and forth between the colourways, I ultimately settled on the white pair and as an individual who predominantly wears white shoes, I think I made the right choice.

Thank you to all of the good folks over at Foot Locker Canada & adidas Canada for hosting the event, and also for making it accessible to everyone! A big shoutouts to all of the barbers and DJs that were in the house for the events in Vancouver, Toronto, and Montreal! Shoutouts to Sean and don’t forget to check out his review & vlog of the event on YouTube as well, always putting out dope product shots and reviews!
