Under Armour Curry 4 Flushed Pink

The importance of story to set the stage for a sneaker is highly important, almost necessary in some cases. After seeing this latest Under Armour Curry 4 in Flushed Pink, one could have just assumed a Valentine’s Day theme and we could have all moved right along. However, it appears the story goes a little deeper, the meaning grows a bit more…

While Stephen Curry had known Ayesha for years, it wasn’t until a trip to Los Angeles for an awards show in the summer of 2008 that they went out for the first time. Ayesha picked up Stephen in an Astrovan, and they went and hit all the tourist spots along Hollywood Boulevard – the Walk of Fame, the Kodak Theater, taking pictures with Marilyn Monroe, the Wax Museum etc. Stephen’s dad Dell was waiting in the hotel to take them to a glamorous athlete party, but Stephen had other plans, as he had to “see about a girl;” a girl he knew at that moment he would eventually marry.

The limited-edition Curry 4 “Flushed Pink” colourway is a celebration of Steph’s love for his wife Ayesha and his love of basketball.

Now if you’re not one for the love story ending with the Awwwww and Ahhhhhhs, just take a look at the tone of pink being used on the upper. A departure from the flashy color vibes, this subdued pink is a definite salvo to world of performance and lifestyle crossover.

For the ballers that stick with us, the Curry 4 offers a knit internal sleeve that creates a comfortable, locked-in fit around the ankle collar & forefoot. The upper is composed of a microfiber synthetic quarter panel for ideal support with reduced weight, a dynamic seam taping merging the knit sleeve and synthetic quarter panel without adding any stitching or additional weight. All sitting atop a full-length speed plate giving you underfoot structure and containment, complemented by an EVA foam midsole that delivers underfoot responsiveness. The cross-centric traction pattern is designed for amazing grip & control on any court. Ready to do all things!

The Curry 4 “Flushed Pink” is available starting February 18 on UA.ca
